Career synopsis |
David started his tax career in the early 1990’s working in the UK office of a global advisory practice where he specialised in expatriate tax planning. This later included a transfer to the firm’s Central & Eastern European practices where he held managerial posts in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Russia and Poland. There he advised multinational firms on structuring inward investment as well as creating tax effective remuneration strategies for their internationally mobile executives.
He returned to the British Isles in 2001 working as tax director for a private trust company based in the Isle of Man, specialising in offshore tax planning for UK based clients as well as establishing tax efficient structures for overseas persons investing in and trading with the UK.
In 2003, he was awarded the President’s Prize from the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners for his thesis on trust taxation.

In 2005, he moved to Gibraltar to head up the international tax practice for one of the largest professional firms in Gibraltar. There he specialised in advising entrepreneurial clients on a wide range of international personal and corporate tax matters and also acted on the floatation of some Gibraltar’s gaming companies, undertaking tax due diligences prior to their stock exchange admissions.
In 2008, he founded Almanac Limited which now represents a varied portfolio of high net worth individual clients.
Almanac Sports Limited was subsequently formed in 2010 to support the growing sports based consulting and agency business.
David is also a volunteer with Gibraltar Young Enterprise, acting as a mentor and business advisor within its Company Programme. |
